Pianist Kim Keon-ho, Captivating the World with Music
Kim Keon-ho
Now 14 years old, he is a pianist with congenital visual impairment. He is currently in the 2nd year of middle school at the Seoul National School for the Blind. He began playing the piano at the age of five and has gained attention as a prodigy with perfect pitch on TV programs such as 'What on Earth' and 'Screening Humanity.‘
In the first grade of elementary school, he took his first steps as a pianist by performing 25 pieces composed by Bürgmüller. In 2019, he was invited to the Saarburg Music Festival in Germany, where he received high praise from the German press (Volksfreund) as a 'brave young Korean pianist who touched Germany with beautiful melodies.‘
In 2020, he won first place in the Rising Star category for jazz performance at the Canadian International Music Competition with his self-composed jazz piece 'Day by Day.' In 2022, he took first place at the gifted student competition hosted by the PoAH Piano Society which is composed of alumni from Seoul National University's Piano Department. In 2023, he was selected as the first visually impaired performer for the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation's Young Talent Concert and also won first place at the 6th Mein Klan International Piano Competition.
